Training of your American XL Bully
American Bully is a very sharp dog. It is best to train them when they are young as they will understand better what kind of behaviors do you want from them.
Training pets is not a tiresome job if you do it with zeal. American Bullies are very intelligent and obedient. They will start following you in no time. Following a sequence of training your dog would be very effective for you
Potty Training
Begin training your XL Bully puppy around 4 months old, as they lack bladder control at this age. If your puppy is whining, circling, sniffing around, or barking, it could be that it is about to relieve himself. Take him immediately to your designated location or outside. Make sure to reward him with a treat or positive affirmation after he has relieved himself.
Crate Training
Pick a good crate that is neither too large nor too small. Feed them inside while the door is still open, luring them with food or treats. Never force them to come inside. Once they feel safe, you can close the gate. Begin with shorter periods before gradually increasing the amount of time they spend inside. They should be able to sleep inside if they are comfortable.
Behavior Training
This entails socializing your dog so that they act decently around other pets and people. Training a dog’s behavior can also help ensure that he or she will allow themselves to be handled or picked up. They must be familiar with your gestures when you are commanding them to “Stop”, “Move”, “Run”, “Pick”, “Drop” etc.
Socializing
Pets that are not used to gatherings, behave abnormally when they have to face such circumstances. Taking them outdoor to public gatherings with you will increase their comfort zone and they will act sober in such situations.
Positive Reinforcement
Like human kids, puppies like the rewards for their obedience. Always give them rewards or affirmation for their good work and they will develop a habit of obedience.
Physical Training
Take your puppy with you to walk, swimming or jogging. This will enhance their understanding, make them more active and sharper. A routine of taking your American Bully on car rides will make them peaceful during your long trips
